Post Game Quick Hits

  • While Ford Field is absolutely gorgeous, a true marvel of modern architecture in regards to stadium construction, it did not feel footballish. While that might not make any sense to those who don’t regularly attend home games, there is an aura about being in a football stadium, and even Lions fans who were talking to us, admitted as much.
  • How in gods’ name do you lose a game that you outgain an opponent by 150 yards, and had the ball for over 10 minutes more than your opposition.
  • It appeared like our defense was giving up horribly timed runs.
  • Ernest Graham was a beast, he runs very Maurice Jones-Drewish, just without the speed.
  • The people in Detroit, were unusually nice. Go to the new MGM Grand, it’s awesome!!
  • Jeff Garcia runs Gruden’s offense to perfection. His 18 straight passes completed, and 37 for 45 day was fun to watch.
  • Why did we not test throwing the ball down the field once, not fun to watch.
  • It appears as though Jeff Garcia trusts Ike Hilliard more than Joey Galloway, possibly due to the early season drops by 84.
  • Kevin Jones looked very healthy…I can’t see inside that busted foot though. On a seperate note, his wife sang the national anthem and quite a voice.
  • We fumbled the ball on the 1 line……THE 1 YARD LINE.
  • Matt Bryants’ onside kick that he drilled right into the chest of a Lion player, which then popped up in the air to be recovered by the Bucs was a thing of beauty.
  • Why can we score so well in the last 2 minutes, but struggle to put the ball in the end zone the rest of the game?
  • Our O-Line has regressed the last two weeks, Garcia was on the run all day.
  • Calvin Johnson’s horizontal to the ground catch and reverse were beautiful. If only?
  • Matt Bryant who has been so reliable since the Philly game last year, missed a makeable kick that was crucial to the outcome of the game.
  • Michael Bennet showed his wheels on a nice 18 yard draw that put us on the 1 yard line….then we fumbled it.
