Bucs Will Vote Against Seeding Change

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and GM Bruce Allen have stated unequivocally that they will vote against a rule change that would have the 3rd-6th seeds seeded based on overall record. I would imagine a tiebreaker record wise would automatically go to a division winner. Based on last year’s records we would have had to go on the road to play the Giants in the Meadowloands in round 1 as the 5th seed.

“It’s a strange time to make this proposal,” Bruce Allen said. “Two of the last three Super Bowl winners (the Steelers and Giants) have (gotten there) by playing on the road. We’ve always, as a league, treated division champs as special. I really don’t know what they hope to accomplish”
