Dunn To Have Big Role

Warrick Dunn did not come to Tampa to be a third down back

“I would never consider myself a third-down back. It’s not my mentality. I don’t play the game that way,” he said. “I don’t think Coach Jon Gruden brought me here just to play on third down. He believes in me, and I just have to go out and prove it.”

Coach Jon Gruden makes no bones whatsoever about his desire for playmakers all over the field.  Although Ernest Graham was stellar in Cadillac’s absence, he still lacks that big play ability that apparently Gruden still thinks that Warrick Dunn has.

“I see him as being a front-line guy,” Gruden said. “He is going to play a lot.”

Not sure that Dunn has the tank left to be a front line back, but I also did not think that Dunn would even still be around the league at this point.  He is a resilient, rarely injured player, which is amazing for a man his size.  Should be an interesting training camp.
