Bucs Trade Marques Douglas To The Ravens

The Bucs announced today they have sent DE Marques Douglas to the Ravens for a late round draft pick in 2009 and a conditional draft pick in 2010.  Douglas was seemingly penciled in to have a big role after signing with us as a free agent in the offseason, but the emergence of Jimmy Wilkerson was going to make it hard for him to make the final 53 man roster.  Good work by Bruce Allen of picking someone up to compete for a spot, then moving him for some value after realizing he was going to get cut anyways.  I have a feeling a few more Bucs are going to be traded before Saturday.

Bit of a surprise; Douglas looked to be the better signing, coming off a 16 start season, but Wilk had a nice pre-season & showed versatility. Bucs are still pretty deep at D-line, tho my boy Moore has yet to  exhibit anything on the field.

Ya not quite sure what were going to do with your boy Dre.  He hasn’t show squat and our line is so deep that he has nowhere to fit in.

I have been saying that DT Chris Bradwell is outright outplaying your boy DRE. I have a feeling they will be rearranging the depth chart and placing Bradwell at 2nd string bucaneers defense real soon. Watch what I tell you.

Bradwell has 2 solo tackles, inc. a sack. Quite credible numbers in limited time. He may wind up on the PS.
