Longest Active Start Streak Among Defensive Players In Jeopardy

Tampabay.com (a branch of the St Petersburg Times) is reporting that Derrick Brooks streak of 193 consecutive games played could be in danger this weekend.  Brooks suffered a right hamstring strain vs the Saints and has been unable to practice the last few days.

“His status is not going to change in terms of the game on Sunday,” coach Jon Gruden said. “We’ll have to let you know when we get to the stadium…I’d say that (Brooks) is working harder than any guy I’ve ever seen. He’s day to day. If there is any way he can play, then he’ll play. The best way I can put it right now is he didn’t practice today. We need to get this hamstring right, and we’ll update you in the next 48 hours.”

Our other two injured players, Maurice Stovall and Jeff Garcia were also limited in practive yesterday as well.  We all know at this point that Garcia is being benched in favor of Brian Griese.
