Lions GM Martin Mayhew "stressed" Monday that Roy Williams is not on the trade block. Mayhew says he's "called a few teams about a handful of players," but not Williams. "I've told Roy that we aren't shopping him, and Roy has told me that he wants to be here," Mayhew said. "We don't think it would (be) better for our players or our team to make that kind of move." Source: Associated Press

According to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, the Lions contacted the 49ers to gauge interest in Roy Williams.

San Francisco reportedly turned them down, but this shows that the Lions are actively pursuing a trade and may ultimately back down from their asking price of a first-round pick. The NFL trading period ends at 4PM Tuesday.

This is his last year. If the Lions wanted to keep him, they would have to sign him long term or franchise him.

I'd give a 3 for Williams. I dislike trading picks for aging players, but RW is still a young guy.
I don't know what his current contract is like, though.

if ya'll want roy williams for a 3rd rounder, be my guest.
I think thats over paying. If it fills a need an can get you to the playoffs, get it done.
