Cadillac Williams confirmed today that his torn patella tendon is not the same injury that he suffered last year versus the Panthers.
“It is. It’s torn, but it’s not the severity of the last one,” Williams said, referring to the torn patellar injury in Week 4 at Carolina in the 2007 season. “It’s more of an off the bone tear, so this process should be much easier.
“That’s the encouraging word,” Jon Gruden said. “It’s a patellar injury that is the same type of injury that Mark Jones had. Mark Jones, obviously, has returned to full health. It will be another grueling process for him. I’m just excited to see him come back to life as a ballcarrier. I thought he caught the ball well. All indications are that he has a chance to be ready for training camp, but it will be a long road to recovery.”
