Ok, so were not the biggest fans of the Gruden firing/Morris hiring but we are Buc fans first and foremost so lets try to look on the brightside.
Realistically, with Gruden at the top and the current talent in place there would be no reason to believe that we could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender next season. Highly regarded, Morris would have parlayed his new position as D-Coordinator into a head coaching position elsewhere within 1-2 years. Why not give him the keys now and allow him to groom and mold the team to his liking. The expectations will be and should be lowered initially as there undoubtedly will be a learning curve and bumps and bruises along the way. Hopefully, he can get them all out of the way in year 1 and along with a new QB learn the ropes for the foreseeable future.
Even though Mike Tomlin (whom he is most commonly compared to) did have a year as a D-Coordinator which was surely important…if Morris is as talented as everyone seems to think he is, ill be more than happy to give him some time and allow him to steer this ship in the right direction.
Even though my greedy gut would have liked to see a proven commodity hired…I wish our new head coach all the luck in the world.
