Before I proceed with a little breakdown on the guys that we did draft I must make a few comments. When posting my final mock draft with my draft guru John Crimmins, I made one overall point to him about Saturdays’ first and second rounds: the only thing that would make me upset would be drafting Josh Freeman. Not only did we draft him, but we traded up to get him. It’s not that I don’t think the guy could be a good QB in this league, he seems to have a lot of the qualities of a great QB [...]

Crunch Time – Bucs Target #3
Darrius Heyward-Bey
The Bucs franchised WR Antonio Bryant this offseason as well as resigning Michael Clayton to a multiyear contract, but even still, in my guestimation and apparently the front offices, the Bucs are still in need of another threat at the receiver position. Michael Clayton has shown over the last few years to have suspect hands, and while I love what Antonio Bryant did last year, his production over the years has been up and down because of personal issues, and expecting him to repeat last years production shouldn’t be a given. Even if he were to repeat last years [...]
Crunch Time – Bucs Target #2
Another player whom we have been showing a lot of interest in, is Georgia Tech DE Michael Johnson. Johnson is a physical freak of nature at 6′7″ 265 lbs. For all the knock on the guy taking plays off during the 2008 college football season, he was quite productive with 17.5 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks. There is a lot of talk about how his motor doesn’t run all the time, but he has been trying to refute those rumors over the past few weeks. He wowed scouts at his pro day, running anywhere from 4.49 to 4.60 depending [...]
Crunch Time – Bucs Target #1
With the NFL Draft 834 minutes away, it is crunch time for not only the Bucs, but for all teams throughout the league. Individual workouts are over, and it is time for the Big Boards to be finalized. I’m going to give you my Top 5 potential players that should/could be on the board when we pick, guys it is rumored the Bucs have interest in. I will give you my projected pick for the Bucs on Friday afternoon, when I’m in the middle of prepping my Gourmet Burger menu for Draftapalooza 6.
All player Scouting Reports will come [...]
It’s now been over two months since the end of the NFL season and only 10 more days till the NFL Draft and the Annual Tim Anderson Draftapalooza (number 6 for all those who care) at my house in Tampa. The NFL gave us one more little nugget to look forward to (or not look forward to) tonight with the release of the NFL schedule.
Not only did we get screwed with the retarded London game, we get to start out 4 of our first 5 weeks of the year vs the NFC East, no easy task. No Monday night [...]
Just saw this hilarious video from Yardbarker and wanted to throw it up for you guys. Apparently starting DT Ryan Sims had aspirations of being a Yardbarker correspondent, but had an impossible task of trying to track down Marcellus Wiley at the Playboy Golf Party. Funny stuff, especially the very end of the video.
The Bucs signed 29 year old QB Byron Leftwich this morning. Leftwich had been courted by the Skins, the Steelers and the Bucs. He reportedly signed for two years, for an undisclosed dollar amount. I personally love the move for a variety of reasons.
1. Pushing Luke McCown – I had a long conversation this morning with one of the writers for this site, Darkwing, and we were in complete disagreement about the signing. Darkwing believes that if there truly is going go to be a battle in campa, that most likely Byron Leftwich will look like the more polished [...]
St Petersburg Times Bucs/sports writer Rick Stroud is a journalist whom I don’t normally agree with. It’s not that I dislike the guy or anything, he’s just a guy whom I don’t normally agree with on just about anything for that matter.
Today’s piece on the Bucs though is quite different, “Tampa Bay Buccaneers have bigger needs than at quarterback.” Stroud is spot on in this short piece. The Bucs have much bigger needs, especially on the defensive side of the ball than the QB position. I understand, and Stroud obviously does too, that without a permanent fixture at QB, that [...]
