I wish I could type; I could write a chapter here. I was opposed to signing Byron last year when the club had Garcia, but now it seems a reasonable move. I think, despite what Leftwich may have been told, he is a fall-back guy. They want Luke to take the job & run w/ it, IMHO. Leftwich doesn't fit in a West Coast scheme, but I am unclear if the Bucs still plan to run that all the time. B.L. has a lifetime 80 passer rating, which is pretty darn good. He cost nada football-wise & I'd guess, not a lot salary-wise. So a plus acquisition, basically.
Freeman seems to now be a non-factor in the draft; he looks to me to be too much of a project,& I sorta moan every time I see his name on a mocker. (See Jamarcus Russell.) Freeman may turn out to be great, but the Bucs have a lot of needs, & only one first-round pick, & no second-rounder.
Griese can pack his bags.
