For the last 21 hours, I have been trying to process the feelings that I have from yesterdays game. There were certainly positive signs from the game, and the increasingly normal questionable coaching calls from Raheem “Radio” Morris.
For starters, Josh Freeman was fantastic. 20 for 29, 250 yards and 2 TD’s. He had 1 fumble that he regained and no interceptions. He showed the ability to roll to the opposite side of his body and throw on the run, which thus far he looks quite comfortable doing (a really hard pass to make). He is also so big that he [...]

A Few Signs Of Life
This Really Happened
Analysis from Sunday’s game=We’re awful, Saints good. Thanks, I’m here all day.
To the real issue here….
This is my third attempt today to put down something cohesive and logical that wasn’t just a rambling, profanity filled diatribe. As all Bucs fan know as of this point (this obviously is not breaking news) the Bucs have demoted Defensive Coordinator Jim Bates to a consulting role.
That means that in less than 3 months, Raheem Morris has fired the two guys that HE HIRED to run both his offensive and defensive units. This was not a situation like Eric Mangini in New York or [...]
Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Raheem Morris has been fined 20k for his “expletive filled tirade” against officials during Sunday’s game after Michael Clayton’s catch/no-catch.
“You know I got fined,” Morris said. “I got fined and I’m more than happy to give my money to a charity of their choosing. That’s just who I am. I’m fortunate enough to be in a society where I can be fined that much money and give it to a charity and move on and not hold a grudge. I learned my lesson. It was my fault. I made a mistake.”
Not surprised by his tirade being [...]
“Controversial?”
This piece was written by the Pewter Planks’ best writer, Daniel Edwards. Only problem with Dan is he writes 3 articles a year. Enjoy.
The Good
Connor Barth: Apparently this Connor kid is pretty good. Barth went 3 for 3 on FGA from 50+ yards (tying the NFL record for most 50+ yard FGMs in a game), as well doing a good job on kick offs. I’m not quite sure what it says when the Kicker is the best player on the team. Actually I do, I just can’t bring myself to say it. Here’s to Connor.
Josh Freeman: Freeman looked like a [...]
Let’s Keep It Going
For the first time in almost a year the Bucs have a chance to put a win streak together. It won’t be an easy task as they take on the Wildcat heavy offense of the Miami Dolphins. The Bucs showed last week that they still have a lot of fight left in them. The key to today’s game will be for the Bucs to have a game plan and stick to it. They need to be able to establish the run and not give up on it at the first sign of trouble. I think we can all admit that Josh [...]
Can We Win Two Straight?
While I want to have high hopes for this Sundays road game in Miami, my naysayer side keeps popping up on shoulder and slapping me in the face. I want to think we can win multiple games in a row, I want to think that Josh Freeman is the answer (shit, I even picked him up in my keeper fantasy league just to give myself some false hope), but that damned naysayer keeps slapping the hell out of me.
Point blank, the Dolphins run the ball too well, and we can’t stop the run. Even in our win last week, we [...]
About Time!
The Buccaneers picked up their first win of the season yesterday, downing the Green Bay Packers 38 to 28. On a day that was originally dominated by our throwback jerseys, and the induction of Lee Roy Selmon into the Buccaneers ring of honor, the talk today is all bout rookie Josh Freeman.
Freeman led the Buccaneers on two fourth quarter touchdown drives, and the Buccaneers overcame an 11 point deficit to take the W. On the day Freeman was 14/31 for 205 yards and 3 Tds and 1 Int. The praise being heaped on Freeman today is one of almost iconic [...]
Today’s game might not mean much in standings, but to a lot of people this game will be a true test of this teams character. One of the greatest Buccaneers of all time, Lee Roy Selmon, will be the first person inducted into the ring of honor at today’s game. Not only will there be tons of fans in the seats, but also a bunch of former players coming to check out the event. In short, this team better play its heart out today. If this team wants anyone in this town to get behind them, they need to fight [...]
Being as though I’m not a member of the “real” media, I can put up speculation and rumors on this site without any repercussions. For the most part though, I tend not to do that. For one, although I’m not a member of the “real” media, I like to hold myself to some of the same principles that guide the media on sources and rumors.
This is not an unsubstantiated rumor. This comes from someone who was at the team hotel in London with the Buccaneers. This person, happened to be around during the Raheem Morris and Aqib Talib verbal joust [...]
The Disaster Continues
There has been plenty of talk about the fact that Raheem Morris may have lost his locker room weeks ago, but some recent comments and reports out of Buccaneers camp are truly alarming. It is being reported that in London, Aqib Talib missed curfew, and then when confronted by Raheem Morris, he cursed Morris out.
The rumors about confrontations, they are what they are,” Morris said, per PewterReport.com. “You let them go out there, you let them hang. Myself and Talib we have a great relationship, I don’t think we’ve ever had an argument. Now I’ve yelled at [...]
