Can We Win Two Straight?

While I want to have high hopes for this Sundays road game in Miami, my naysayer side keeps popping up on shoulder and slapping me in the face.  I want to think we can win multiple games in a row, I want to think that Josh Freeman is the answer (shit, I even picked him up in my keeper fantasy league just to give myself some false hope), but that damned naysayer keeps slapping the hell out of me.

Point blank, the Dolphins run the ball too well, and we can’t stop the run.  Even in our win last week, we gave up 150+ yards rushing.  Against a team who pounds the ball relentlessly, do we really stand a chance?  I have said this from the start of the season when I knew we were going to be awful, bad teams don’t win on the road.  That essentially gave us a best chance scenario of 8-8 (that was giving us one road win, because one of our “home” games was in freaking England).

The one way we can win, play action.   The Dolphins are great against the run, but their young tandem of corners is just learning the ropes.  Start the game out with a relentless game plan of running the ball, and then unleash the cannon that regardless of Freeman’s accuracy, he certainly possesses.  Let’s start using the offensive weapons that we do have, Winslow, Stroughter and possibly that bum Michael Clayton.

Will our coaches listen to my game plan, of course not, I’m a bum, and so are they.  Bums don’t listen to bums, but damn, at least I have a plan.

Roy Cummings of the “Trib” expects the Dolphins to blitz Freeman a lot; the best cure for that is to run the ball.Cadillac may be trying to show up his old college teammate so his effort should be high. But, young QBs typically play poorly in their second outing for whatever reason. Miami has young CB’s but w/out Bryant, none of Tampa’s WRs are going to scare anybody (Jordan Shipley Rd. 2, 2010!).(I hope they keep trying to throw to Ward downfield.)Henne didnt play very well last week, a trend of sorts.Miami’s WRs are worse than the Bucs’.The Fish will try to pound it; Sabby needs to crowd the box & everyone must tackle well. So, all-in-all, it is a winnable game.It may come down to the old cliches of special teams & turnovers.
