It has been hard to find many positive things to talk about this season for the Buccaneers. We are one of the worst teams in the league, with little positive developments during the course of the first 16 of the season. We rank near the bottom both defensively and offensively in almost every single category.
Sunday though, the Bucs won their 2nd straight game. While I’m used to bashing this regime, I want to give it some credit for the handling of the game plan on Sunday.
The thing that stood out most to me, was the dedication to running the [...]

Time For Some Positives
New Years Bucs Resolutions
Being as though it is the end of the year, and nearing the end of the season for our Buccaneers, I decided to make some potential NYE Resolutions for the current Bucs team. Unfortunately it doesn’t involve things like, win the division, or make it to Conference Championship game, because, well, we have 2 wins. So baby steps it is. There will also be a focus on the draft and FA. I am assuming that a new deal will be agreed upon with management and labor with regards to some of my Free Agency Resolutions.
Without futher ado….
Finish with a worse [...]
I Forgot What Winning Was Like
The Buccaneers picked up their 2nd victory of the season yesterday, spanking the Seattle Seahawks, on the road no less, 24-7.
The game started in a way that was eerily reminiscent to our last few games, with Josh Freeman throwing an INT on his first pass of the game, a ball he sailed way over a receivers head while making the throw planted on his feet. It felt like this game was going to progress like most of this season with the Bucs not running the ball enough, and Freeman throwing the ball too much, most of the time without much [...]
Yesterday’s announcement by the Washington Redskins that Vinny Ceratto was out as General Manager of the team, and that Bruce Allen was taking over that role, could have some very serious implications for the Buccaneers.
For starters, I think it is a great move by the Skins. Allen proved to be quite genius upon coming to Tampa and inheriting a real clusterfudge of a cap situation from previous GM Rich McKay. For a team that is willing to pay for any free agent, and structure the contracts accordingly to stay within the salary cap, Allen should be a great fit. He [...]
Ya, you read the title and wondered to yourself, why the hell I started sounding like Radio Morris when naming my posts. Oh wait, that was Radio in his presser today with the media, mainly Anwar Richardson (who was asking most of the questions). This half quote was in response to a question about what he needed to do and what the team needed to show to keep his job safe.
“That’s for mentally weak people to worry about my future. My job is to coach the football team, week to week, week in and week out. I have to go [...]
I have been complaining for over 4 months now about the direction that I thought this team was moving in. Anyone who reads this site, knows that I think only with the removal of Raheem Morris as head coach, will the Bucs have a chance in the coming years. The guy is clueless, and I think the making of the same mistakes every week, coupled with his lack of any logical reasoning behind the same mistakes being made, is sign enough that the Buccaneers most move on.
As we all know, Radio lacks the ability to talk about anything in a [...]
First I’d like to thank all the people who have been Googling Steve Duemig over the past couple years and clicking on my stories. When you Google him now, you get a Wikipedia entry, and then articles entitlesd “How Does Steve Duemig Continue To Be Employed” and “Steve Duemig Accomplishes Something Besides Allegedly Driving Drunk.” I was getting random comments sometimes on articles that I wrote about Steve Duemig, and couldn’t figure out why. I sat around for a few minutes and wondered, hey, I wonder if you google this loser, if the Pewter Plank articles come up. They do, [...]
Some random thoughts from today’s game.
This is becoming really depressing.
Josh Freeman forced a lot of passes today, something he hasn’t really done thusfar in his rookie campaign. You can’t combine poor accuracy with forced throws, or you end up throwing 5 INT’s.
Should have run the ball more, it was working. They even quoted Jon Beason on the telecast and he even said he doesn’t understand why we don’t run the ball more.
Antonio Bryant got his wish, and showed why he may have a top 5 pair of hands for an NFL receiver.
Why did it take all game to get Kellen [...]
Sometimes I feel like Raheem Morris reads this website (we know this isn’t true, we’re just pretending now), looks at the Game Previews that I put up, and does the exact opposite. For this version of the Game Preview, I’m going to go Anti-Gameplan style.
We should run the ball under 10 times, as we all know that running is not very important.
Our best offensive weapons, Antonio Bryant and K2 should be avoided as much as possible in order to get more run for guys like Maurice Stovall and that bum Michael Clayton (if he even plays).
The passing offense should revolve [...]
Buccaneers Talk On CCR
With the Bucs upcoming “rivalry game” (can you really have rivals when you’re 1-10) looming against the Carolina Panthers this weekend, it was once again time for back and forth with John White of Cat Crave Radio.
I have told you guys this numerous times, but this is one of the best internet radio shows you will find. He has multiple ex and current Panthers on the show every week, and I’m just glad to be a part of something so well put together. The Bucs segment starts at about the 43 minute mark, but just listen to the whole damned [...]
