K2 Wins St Pete Times Beat Writers MVP

It’s hard choosing an MVP of a team that went 3-13.  Every year though, the beat writers for the St Pete Times choose an MVP choice from the Buccaneers roster.

I would have to imagine the list looked like something like the following, listed in no particular order:

  • Kellen Winslow
  • Josh Freeman
  • Aqib Talib
  • Tanard Jackson
  • Cadillac Williams

K2, quietly had a superb season for the Bucs, setting team records in catches for a TE (77) and yards for a TE (884) and was named the MVP.

Stephen Holder of the Times says that Freeman finished 2nd, with the rationale being “he was the biggest contributor in the team’s three wins.”

My final list would have looked like this.

  • Kellen Winslow
  • Tanard Jackson
  • Josh Freeman
  • Cadillac Williams
  • Aqib Talib

  • Mike J

Caddy’s comeback story is great & all, but either he or Ward needs to go. Williams didn’t look (I admittedly couldn’t see every game) like he was running really hard much of the time;the blocking was execrable but he had some creases. RBs are a dime a dozen. I’d like to see a combo of a big back like Gerhart or Ben Tate & one of these little scatbacks that we see so much of.Like all young QBs, Freeman is much better with a strong or at least decent ground game.
