“I love great weather. I love football. It doesn’t matter where I play,” Wilfork told the Sun-Sentinel. “I just want to have security for my family. I would love to stay in New England if I had the chance. I love New England because of my teammates, my family. My son, the friends and connections we’ve made up there, it’s some great people up there. But if it doesn’t work out I’ll weigh my options I tell you that.”
Vince Wilfork in response to playing in Miami or Tampa:
“A dream come true.”
Wilfork coming to Tampa would be a dream come true for me too. Wilfork is the kind of player who can play NT or DT in a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme. While he only has 7.5 sacks in 6 years with the Pats, he constantly takes on two blockers on ever play, and still ends the season with 40+ tackles and a couple sacks.
Vince Wilfork would make up for the fact that we probably aren’t going to get Gerald McCoy or Ndamakong Suh. Him and Roy Miller would form quite a formidable duo for the Bucs for the next 5 years.
I’ll try not to get too excited.
