The Buccaneers have resigned LB Angelo Crowell. Crowell is a player with a lot of talent, but has spent the last two years being injured. He has appeared in 0 games since recording 86 tackles in 2007. A lot of people thought Crowell had a chance to compete for the Sam linebacker spot before last season, but I would guess that Crowell is going to have to fight to make the team in 2010.

Sorry for the delay, was on a week and a half vacation in New Orleans….
I saw this retweeted yesterday and just got a little chuckle when I read the quote from Bucs co-chair Joel Glazer.
“Based on where we’re at today … realistically, we are staring at having games blacked out in our local market. I bring that up because I don’t want people to be surprised when they get to September and … the game is not on TV. It’s not what we want.
“We’re working hard to avoid it, and I think people are starting to see what we’re trying [...]

Defensive Corner specific Traits
Fluidity
3
Above-average balance. Does an adequate job of opening hips when forced to turn and run but feet are quicker than hips and he can lose too much momentum getting in and out of breaks.
Closing Burst
2
Needs to do a better job of sinking hips but drives off his back foot and shows good burst coming out of his backpedal. Shows above-average closing speed when receivers catch the ball in front of him. Flashes functional recovery speed when tracking the ball downfield.
Ball Skills
2
Reads the quarterback’s drops fairly well and flashes the ability to break [...]

With the draft less than a month and a half away, PP will start looking at some of the potential targets for the Buccaneers. I can’t imagine that the Buccaneers look past Eric Berry, Gerald McCoy, Kong Suh or Jason Pierre Paul.
We will start looking at guys the Bucs could target in round 2.

I’ve been just so overwhelmed with joy the past few days, that I found out it hard to translate my excitement into words. Our utter disregard for the free agency period has been disappointing to say the least, but Reggie Brown made up for it. The Buccaneers moved a 6th round pick in 2011 for Brown.
I had a long conversation with a friend about the Bucs lack of effort in trying to trade for Kerry Rhodes or Anquan Boldin. He said, hes glad that we didn’t move a fourth round pick for Rhodes or a 3rd and a 4th for [...]

I had very low hopes at the start of free agency that the Buccaneers would be highly active. Not that I didn’t want them to take a look around a free agent and potential trade bait pool that seemed to have many options that would help the Bucs, it’s that I knew we would spend no money.
Aaron Kampman, Tony Pashos, Kassim Osgood, Artis Hicks, Kerry Rhodes, Kevin Walter, Anquan Boldin, Dunta Robinson, Karlos Dansby, Antrel Rolle and Antonio Cromartie all would have been players who would have really helped the Buccaneers in the areas of our greatest need, DE, T, [...]

The Detroit Lions have sent a 3rd round pick to the Cleveland Browns for defensive tackle Corey Williams. This could be the break that the Bucs need in the draft to land one of the top 2 defensive tackles. They also signed Kyle Vandenbosch to a contract as well.
I’m just hypothesizing, but it would seem to me that landing a LT to protect franchise QB Matthew Stafford would now be key to the Lions. After spending the first 12 hours of FA adding pieces to their defense, a franchise LT to pair with their franchise QB and franchise WR [...]
