The Detroit Lions have sent a 3rd round pick to the Cleveland Browns for defensive tackle Corey Williams. This could be the break that the Bucs need in the draft to land one of the top 2 defensive tackles. They also signed Kyle Vandenbosch to a contract as well.
I’m just hypothesizing, but it would seem to me that landing a LT to protect franchise QB Matthew Stafford would now be key to the Lions. After spending the first 12 hours of FA adding pieces to their defense, a franchise LT to pair with their franchise QB and franchise WR almost seems like a no brainer.
If the Rams do end up taking a QB, which I think they will, that would leave the Bucs with a choice of either Kong Suh or Gerald McCoy, a dream scenario for the Bucs, and one that wouldn’t force us to move a draft pick and a backup QB to move up to get either.
