Buc Bits

Here are some Buc Bits – small, bits of news about the Buccaneers to help you get through the busy work day.

Aqib Talib will play Sunday after missing the Cleveland game due to a suspension. Talib joining the active roster means the Bucs will have to cut one player today in order to stay at the 53-man roster maximum.

Maurice Stovall was inactive against Cleveland even though he says his ankle is ready to go. It was a coach’s decision not to put him on the active day 46-man roster. The big question is, will he be cut? The Bucs are happy with Williams, Stroughter, Spurlock, and Benn is filling in on special teams. There may not be a spot for him.

Keydrick Vincent might be part of a rotating guard situation to bring in Zuttah on passing downs. Vincent is physical on running plays, but is older and needs more time to recover and is not that gifted on passing downs. Zuttah is younger, athletic and can protect better on passing downs, but is not as physical on running plays. It is an odd situation which does not look too good at the moment. Using multiple offensive linemen during the game does not go well for continuity.

The Bucs are reporting no injuries today, good news as they prepare for Carolina this Sunday.

Topics: Aqib Talib, Jeremy Zuttah, Keydrick Vincent, Maurice Stovall

With Aqib back the defense will be a lot better. No offense to E.J., but Aqib is just better. I’m glad he’ll be back on Sunday.
On another note, I don’t believe that the Bucs will cut Stovall. He’s just to skilled and talented to just be cut. Plus seeing how the Bucs WR depth is kinda of strained, I believe that it would be unwise to get rid of Stovall.

I agree Aqib is much better than E.J., but Biggers is good and Myron Lewis is also in the mix. The Bucs have a nice problem in the secondary.

Stovall may be out, I just don’t see how they can fit him into the rotation, especially with the youth movement. Between Williams, Stroughter, Spurlock, and Benn, he will have to step up big time for the Bucs. I hope they cut Sabby the Goat if they are going to cut anyone.

Agreed. I would love to see them cut the Goat! It’s time for Sabby to be put out to pasture. lol

the goat needs to be sent out to pasture, abandoned, etc. he is just terrible. It will either be Stovall, Sabby, or Bennett (coaches aren’t happy with him).
