The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have just moved to 3-1 on the young season having stolen a victory from the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, 24-21. Connor Barth had an opportunity to kick the game winning field goal after Carson Palmer‘s third interception of the day. Cody Grimm, Sabby Piscitelli and the Bucs D stepped up big today as the Bucs beat a very talented Bengals team.
I cannot say enough about the tenacity and fortitude of this Bucs squad. After a tough loss to the Steelers the team made necessary adjustments during the bye week and came out feisty and strong against the Bengals to win their second game of the season.
The run game was serviceable, Josh Freeman was gutsy as hell and Mike Williams is turning into a truly elite receiver making catches when Tampa Bay most needed them. I have to hand it to the Bucs, I didn’t think that they could hang with a team as talented as the Bengals but they proved to be incredibly opportunistic and managed to win a very big game. Now the Buccaneers stand at 3-1 and have kept pace with the rest of the NFC South. But more importantly, this team is clearly buying into the idea that they are a talented up-and-coming team, not the out-classed team that was drummed by the Steelers two weeks ago. I cannot wait for next week. Check back here and we’ll have in-depth post-game coverage and analysis for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
