Last week you all voted Michael Spurlock as the Buccaneers player of the week for his 250+ all-purpose yard performance against the Falcons. This week there are a lot more candidates, it’s always more fun to hand out game-balls after winning. You know how it goes, I’ll give out five game-balls and you all vote for your Player of the Week. Here goes…
Josh Freeman- Freeman had a very impressive day throwing the ball, he completed 75 percent of his passes going 18 of 24 for 241 yards and two touchdowns. He looked comfortable and poised all day and lead the Bucs offense to one of their best games of the season.
Kellen Winslow- Winslow’s numbers, six receptions for 65 yards and a score, are hardly ostentatious, but take one look at the catch Winslow made between double coverage in the end zone and you’ll know all you need to about how well he played on Sunday.
Cadillac Williams- Cadillac is on here for sentimental reasons, LeGarrette Blount shouldered the load for the rushing attack, but you have to admit it felt good to see Cadillac flash a bit of his old skill and break that 45 yard touchdown. Nobody dislikes Caddy, it’s all about production and the Bucs need for a bigger more physical runner. But after all that Cadillac has been through, it had to feel good for him to break one like that.
Gerald McCoy- McCoy had five tackles, was more active than he’s been in recent weeks and even had a strip that the Buccaneers jumped on and turned into points. Hopefully this will be the starting point for a great second half from McCoy.
Barrett Ruud- I’ve been hard on Barrett but he played his typical solid game again on Sunday. I still wish he’d be a more vocal leader but once again he lead the team in tackle and he contributed a sack, doubling the number of sacks the linebacking corps had produced all season.
So who is your pick for player of the week?
