Stephen Holder does a very interesting analysis of where the Buccaneers ownership stands in regard to the current NFL Labor situation. As per usual, the Glazers have not been very publicly involved in any aspect of the situation and haven’t so much as issued a public statement on the issue. Holder looks at the Glazers finances, the profitability of the Bucs and potential motivations the Glazers could have in regard to the negotiations.
I have to say I’m personally a lot more comfortable with the direction they are stewarding the franchise now than I was a couple of months ago. I’m still not thrilled that a couple of talented coaches like Rich Bisaccia were pretty much pruned off the Bucs coaching staff in what were essentially lateral moves (career-wise). But the Bucs have addressed contract concerns with their core coaching staff and do seem to be operating very efficiently. So let me publicly say, I withdraw most of my critique. That being said, I am curious exactly what the Glazers are thinking at this point.
