Tonight the NFL will release the schedule for the 2011 season. There are no guarantees there even will be a next season right now, but the NFL is going to release the schedules all the same. Already the players have objected to this, sending out a mass email to fans updating them on the current state of labor relations. Regardless the Bucs already have a pretty decent idea of what the schedule will look like save most of the dates.
Aside from an October 23rd date in London with the Bears that will count as a home game, the Bucs will play all three other teams in their division home and away (Saints, Falcons, Panthers). As well as home games against the Lions (again), Cowboys, Texans and Colts and road games against the Packers, Vikings, 49ers, Jaguars and Titans. Now all that’s left tonight is to see how it breaks down and when those games fall.
For the record the NFL released its preseason schedule last year, the preseason schedule for the Buccaneers is:
August 12, At Kansas City
August 18-22, New England
August 25-28, Miami
September 1 or 2, At Washington
