Are you serious? The Bucs ranked 28th against the run and had the second fewest sacks in the league. Clearly Mark Dominik thought it needed to be addressed when he spent his first two picks in this year's draft on defensive ends. So excuse me for not giving the line a break on the merits of one good game.

And the Bucs went 10-6 for two reasons, one being Josh Freeman lead seven 4th quarter comebacks and the other being the Bucs secondary was able to bail out the defensive line with great coverage (7th against the pass despite being second to last in sacks). Go back and watch film from some of those games and it'll look like the interior of the line was on roller skates. At points last year the best defender at setting the edge was Ronde Barber. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I completely stand by that assessment of the line. The Bucs line was terrible last season. Bottom five in the league. The Bucs were 10-6 in spite of its defensive front four, possibly even front seven.

You wrote: Magee has some promise, but having been relegated to back-up duty on what was already a downright terrible defensive line last season, I can’t see the Bucs sticking with him much longer.

the defensive line kicked for downright terrible . . what did they do to drew breese and the saints . . how did they go 10 and 6? . . it certainly was not the offense . .
