These athletes are used and abused from the moment they accept that college scholarship. Their coaches make millions while the athlete take the hits. So many in fact, that a fairly large percentage have had a least one surgical procedure by the time they’ve turned 25. Their average employment in the NFL is 3-4 yearrs for most. The owners have the rest of their life to accumulate their wealth. Oh I almost forgot, they were wealthy before they became owners. The fact is, being an owner of an NFL franchise, a franchise that represent common men, women and children in the best country the world should be seen as a privilege. If each fan acted as a business man, he damn well wouldn’t spend his money on football. He’d take the family to where he can get the biggest bang for the buck.
It sickens me to see, so called fans, renege on their allegiance to the athlete. I never once wore the uniform of an owner. I go to professional sports to see elite performances by athletes who can accomplish feats of athleticism that can’t be seen elsewhere. And when they do perform, I sit in awe and appreciation and feel that I saw something unique and very special. The life of and NFL athlete is very short and very few occupations will demand the pain and suffering that these guys will have to endure for the rest of their lives. As I said earlier, the owners have the rest of their lives to continue piling-on their wealth.

Someone remind me, I can't remember the last time an owner got carried off the field. Can't remember when an owner, at age 45 became mentally disabled as a result of receiving too many concussions from watching the game. You guys are the typical Americans who begrudge others who actually did what you couldn't or wouldn't do. These athletes have spent years to achieve this elite level of performance. Who would come out and watch your tired @SS. Mr. Culverhouse was the perfect business man. Made millions while fielding a substandard team. Yeah, go ahead sucker, side with the owners.

Mr.Nohe
I have a list from forbes on profits from 2010 for the 2009 calendar year
http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2010/08/26/forbes-miami-dolphins-1-of-2-nfl-teams-to-lose-money-in-2009/
the owners are not cutting a fat hog in the butt=some players make more than the owners and take no financial risk
I believe most owners do it for the love of the game
