Bucs Sign Mason Foster

Mason Foster is signed.

Mark Dominik is giving his 4 PM news conference and started off his comments with a nice piece of Buccaneers news, Washington MLB Mason Foster has just been signed to a four year deal. This marks the first of the 2011 Buccaneers draft picks to ink a contract, though by the end of the press conference 7th rounder Daniel Hardy had also signed with the Bucs as well.

This just goes to show you the frenzied pace at which the Bucs are beginning to move forward. Dominik is apparently a magician because I’ve never seen someone give a press conference while simultaneously finalizing a player contract but Dominik did just that mere moments ago.

Back to Foster though, the UW product was the Bucs third round pick and based on the comments that Mark Dominik made about his signing, it seems as though Foster may be poised to replace Barrett Ruud. Dominik is excited that Foster will now be able to come in and learn the Bucs system and will have the maximum time possible. When pressed on whether Foster’s signing spelled Ruud’s end Dominik simply said, “I’m very excited about Mason’s future.”
