Per a tweet by Anwar Richardson, Da’Quan Bowers has reached an agreement with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The talented young defensive end out of Clemson was once seen as the top prospect in the 2011 draft before concerns about his knee caused his draft-stock to plummet. Bowers landed in Tampa with the 51st pick and has maintained he is healthy and ready to compete. Yesterday he passed his physical and was cleared to start camp. Today he signed his contract.
“Feels good to finally be a buc officially…. Dotted line signed …. [sic] -@DaQuanBowers93“
Terms of the deal have not yet been made available but I will post them right here as soon as they are announced. Yesterday, Adrian Clayborn received a four year 8.2 million dollar deal. Interestingly enough it was entirely guaranteed. Mason Foster, taken in the third, got a four year deal worth 2.784 million dollars with 1.4 in guarantees. Bowers was taken 51st so he should be slated to make between four and five over the course of his rookie deal. The Buccaneers now have signed Adrian Clayborn, Mason Foster, Daniel Hardy and Bowers so far.
