The Bucs are back on the practice field again today after opening up their first practice to the public yesterday evening. If you got the chance to attend last night you were treated to your first glimpse of the 2011 Bucs and your first glimpse of football in months, period. The Bucs still have plenty of work to do, but it’s been fantastic just to have them back. Let’s take a look at what’s going on in camp.
- The Bucs have signed their final draft pick, Allen Bradford. I have no idea what took so long on the deal or why he was the last to sign, but the Bucs will not have all their rookies in camp.
- Preston Parker, Dezmon Briscoe, Jock Sanders, Sammie Stroughter, Ed Gant and Armando Allen are all getting a look at kick returner. If I had to bet I’d say it’s ultimately going to be Michael Spurlock (who signed his tender recently) and Parker who get the duties once the season starts.
- Luke Stocker is the first camp casualty, he went down with a right hip strain and will be out at least a week. Yesterday Mike Williams was carted off the field but only had cramps, he has looked strong in practice today according to a number of different reporters.
- Arrelious Benn was held out of practice on a precautionary basis, but is fine.
Keep checking back, we will have more updates.
