Over the past week I have been absent from The Pewter Plank as I transition into a new career (and simultaneously handle some family issues). I have accepted a position as a writer for the Miami Herald and will be covering the Florida State Seminoles athletic programs this year. This is a dream come true for me, it’s my foot in the door in the industry I’ve always dreamt of working in. I will be handling mostly football this fall, writing daily practice notebooks, a weekly feature, a game advance and then covering the games on Saturday. My first FSU notebook ran in the Herald this morning.
I am not leaving this site, I will remain as the editor and continue to work tirelessly to build this property into the fantastic Buccaneers site we all know it can be. Over the last year I have averaged just under 60 posts per month, and that will continue during the regular season, but I want to apologize for the recent week-long lapse that has just transpired. As I mentioned, I have also been handling some family issues as well. I expect those to be resolved as of Saturday so I will be back in my full capacity at that point.
Fortunately, we have a fantastic staff in place here with guys like Josh Hill, Joey Rodriguez, Dr. Mark McKenna and Ben Norris. Down the road there is a very good chance one of them may one day become the editor at TPP. But for now, I look forward to another great season here at The Pewter Plank, and thank you for reading. We do this for you, and we couldn’t do this without you. So Go Bucs! And if you’re so inclined, pick up a Miami Herald and read an article of mine this year.
