Facing the Final Roster Cuts

For many of you Buccaneer fans, this game could be meaningless and not worth your attention.  What you must understand is that these are young men who have devoted their lives to making an active roster as a professional football player.  Although you may not recognize all the names that occupy the field, this game could actually bring greater intensity and competition.  Especially for the athletes whom have fallen in love with everything the Bucs offer as an organization.  There will be some desperate showcasing of talents for unproven rookies and some returning vets who’ve been overshadowed by the names we are so familiar with.

Cory Lynch, who has been a solid safety, has to prove that he is a better option than the hard hitting, Larry Asante, and the rookie who has yet to show us his talents and determination, Ahmad Black.  The running back position behind Blount is still up for grabs.  Allen Bradford still has to out perform Mossis Madu and Armando Allen Jr.  None of these backs have made it an easy, clear choice for the coaching staff, but Bradford has his consistent forward progress to speak for him.  Quarterback Rudy Carpenter also could be losing his job to rookie Jonathan Crompton.  Several offensive linemen could be dethroned by younger, hungrier players.  There is so much at stake for all these players and come September 3rd, 27 athletes will be on a long flight home.
