Mason Foster drew some criticism late last season after he fizzled down the stretch. It was unfortunate since he started out so strong, but the second year man out of Washington is ready to make his impact permanent on this Bucs defense.
He’s trying to make that impact felt today in New York and so far, so good for Foster. After a Bucs punt, the Giants were looking to drive down the field and take control of the game, but we’ll never know if that would have happened — thanks to Mason Foster.
Foster intercepted Eli Manning’s pass, but it was more than just the interception, it’s what the interception set up. The Bucs instead turned out to be the team that took control of the game, as not long after the pick, Josh Freeman hooked up with Vincent Jackson for thei pairs first touchdown connection of the season.
The score put the Bucs up 10-6 and later, after a Brandon McDonald interception, the Bucs went up 17-6 over the Giants. The Bucs have all eyes on them this week and they’re making the most of this massive opportunity to distance themselves from the youngry days of yester-season.
The game is far from over, but already the Buccaneers are beating up the Giants like an actual football team which is a pleasant sight for sore eyes.
