The NFL offseason is here, and that means Buccaneer fans have a sports void to fill this summer. Following the latest news and rumors about the Buccaneers is the top priority here at the Pewter Plank, but the sports world continues even when the NFL has closed its doors for the summer. That’s why The Pewter Plank would like to offer the community a chance to join in some fantasy baseball action, and compete against your fellow Pewter Plankers for the title of best baseball brain on a Buccaneers blog.

The plan is to only have one league, managed on a free fantasy baseball website, and have the competition be simply for pride, and a shout-out on the blog. No money will change hands, and no substantial prizes will be handed out, to avoid the drama and complications that come along with the transfer of valuable items over the Internet. We will definitely give the winner their props on the blog, and give occasional updates on the “Hub” portion of the website!

The plan is to do the same thing for football season, and players who compete in fantasy baseball will have first dibs on spots in fantasy football, so keep that in mind if you’re interested in joining in the fun this fall for Fantasy Football 2013 with the Pewter Plank.

As of now, I want to start offering people the opportunity to sign up. I have no idea what the interest will be, so the number of teams, format of the league, and other information will be determined as we get more of an idea how many people are interested. Please e-mail me at [email protected] and state that you are interested in fantasy baseball, or to ask any specific questions. We will want to get started soon, so we can be sure a draft date is set in plenty of time for the first pitch.
