1. Kansas City Chiefs
Geno Smith
Quarterback, West Virginia

A franchise QB for a team in need of one.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars
Barkevious Mingo
Defensive End, LSU

Want a better version of Bruce Irvin? Gus Bradley does!

3. Oakland Raiders
Star Lotulelei
Defensive Tackle, Utah

Not a flashy pick, but they need to get some young talent up front.

4. Philadelphia Eagles
Luke Joeckel
Offensive Tackle, Texas A&M

Keeping Mike Vick means the Iggles need some protection help for him.

5. Detroit Lions
Bjoern Werner
Defensive End, Florida State

Best player on the board, and it’s a position of need for the Lions.

6. Cleveland Browns
Jarvis Jones
Linebacker, Georgia

Health concerns will impact his draft stock, but he’s a hard worker and a great player.

7. Arizona Cardinals
Eric Fisher
Offensive Tackle, Central Michigan

Pair him with a legitimate QB and the Cardinals are on their way to getting back to respectability.

8. Buffalo Bills
Dee Milliner
Cornerback, Alabama

The Bills decide a QB can wait and stock up on defense.

9. New York Jets
Damontre Moore
Defensive End, Texas A&M

The Jets need to retool an aging defense.

10. Tennessee Titans
Kenny Vaccaro
Safety, Texas

A solid addition to a defense in need of some work.

11. San Diego Chargers
Lane Johnson
Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma

Time to start building back up the O-Line and have a foundation for a new offense.

12. Miami Dolphins
Sheldon Richardson
Defensive Tackle, Missouri

A good compliment to Paul Soliai.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Manti Te’o
Linebacker, Notre Dame

The best player left on the board, a team leader, hard worker, and talented linebacker.

14. Carolina Panthers
Sharrif Floyd
Defensive Tackle, Florida

Floyd has been flying up draft boards lately and the Panthers need help up the middle.

15. New Orleans Saints
Ezekiel Ansah
Defensive End, BYU

The Saints will be back with a vengeance  and need to make sure the defense matches their instantly improved offense under Sean Payton.

16. St. Louis Rams
Keenan Allen
Wide Receiver, California

Sam Bradford gets a new target.

The only way this pick would make sense for us is if we already managed to pick up 2 corners in free agency or if Milliner, Banks, and Rhodes are all gone by 13. I don’t see it happening. I don’t really think there’s any chance he falls to 13 anyway.

Tony, I’m not including trades, and it would be silly to reach for a corner at 13. That’s the problem with mock drafts. I’d much rather get the best player on the board than reach for a perceived need.

If my boy Milliner is gone, this pick would make some sense. But we definitely would need to pick up at least 1 corner in free agency. But like I said earlier, there’s not really much of a chance Manti Te’o is still there at 13 anyway. I think the Raiders will probably take him.

I would gamble large sums of money that Te’o does not go in the top 7.

if te’o is still there at 13, i’d say go for it . . he is going to be a real presence for whatever team he plays for . .
