Update: 8:52 PM
Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Jets’ front office is refusing to open lines of communication with the agents of cornerback Darrelle Revis, and this is holding back a potential trade. The Jets are trying their best to make sure this deal doesn’t work.
We’ll bring more updates as we find them.
Here is the tweet that set the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Twitter faithful on fire:
I’m hearing CB Darelle Revis will be traded to the Bucs. Details just need to be ironed out.
— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) March 13, 2013
Jeff McLane, Eagles beat reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, posted this to Twitter just moments ago. This is the first substantial rumor linking the Buccaneers and Revis in an actual trade.
However, moments later, it was reveal the Buccaneers and Jets might not have struck a deal:
Saw the report of a Revis to Bucs and a trade being worked out. Told that’s not true at this point.

So who honestly knows at this point? The rumors are flying around twitter, and McLane would clarify that no deal is done. However, lines of communication have clearly opened up between the Buccaneers and Jets, as details are now leaking out about their discussions. As I stated just minutes ago in an article about “The Revis Window,” the time for a trade is sooner rather than later. So if there are serious discussions, expect to hear confirmation soon.
We will be sure to keep you up to date with any more information about the situation.
