Agent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Darrelle Revis Agree To Contract Terms

This is as official as it gets, folks. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have agreed to terms with Darrelle Revis on a contract extension, signed this afternoon.

The contract is being signed and the paperwork is being filed, but this deal is done. Darrelle Revis will join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and sign a long-term contract. He was picked up by Greg Schiano at a Tampa Airport and brought to One Buc Place this afternoon, and has obviously passed all the tests and met all the requirements needed to put his name on paper with the club.

The team will reportedly hold a press conference on Monday to announce the deal officially, but the photo linked above by his business manager is proof enough. The only question now is compensation, which we have yet to learn. There has been plenty of opinions as to what the Buccaneers gave the Jets for Revis, and plenty of opinions as to how much the Buccaneers will pay Revis on his new contract.

This will all become more clear soon, but as for now, join us in welcome Revis Island to the Tampa Bay area. The Buccaneers’ cornerback situation seems a lot better than it did a week ago, doesn’t it? This sets up a very interesting week one matchup against the New York Jets, as Revis will line up against his old team in his first game as a Buccaneer.

Feel free to leave comments and let us know what you think the Buccaneers will pay Revis on his contact, and what they will send the Jets as compensation. Or just rejoice that the Buccaneers have traded for the best cornerback in the NFL.

The compensation is the 13 pick and a conditional 3rd/4th next year.
This is great news! We finally got the trade done, and for a more than reasonable price too.
