Once the news broke today that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets had agreed to terms on a Darrelle Revis trade, Twitter began to give its thoughts on what this meant for the Buccaneers. Here’s a look at some of the opinions given on the social networking service:
@thepewterplank Put up or shut up time for the bucs. Its either we start to contend or another 10 year drought.

.@utepminers If they can draft 1 more decent CB, top 10 easy. Possibly top 5. Revis makes that much of a difference.

@thepewterplank 3. This should get ronde wanted to come back as 3rd down tony Gonzalez specialist. Ronde could play the Pittsburgh floater

I think Robby sums it up perfectly for almost every Buccaneer fan. Finally this is over. And the prevailing notion amongst other fans and NFL twitter folks is that this shores up the defense in an extreme way, and lifts the Buccaneers chances in 2013 to new heights.
One interesting thought mentioned a couple of times during the mayhem after the report is this trade may increase the likelihood that Ronde Barber comes back to play nickel corner in a defense with such a strong corner on one side of the field.
So what do you think, Buccaneers fans? Continue to give us your thoughts on Twitter, and here on the website in the comment section.
We leave you with one last tweet, to consider what this trade means for the Buccaneers as an organization.
Tampa erased the perception of being cheap with the Nicks, Jackson & Goldson deals. Revis will start cementing the opposite reputation.
