We’re less than three months away from the first day the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field at Raymond James Stadium and play a real football game. The NFL and the Buccaneers have announced the official preseason schedule, and it goes as follows:
|Thursday, August 8th||7:30 PM||Baltimore Ravens||Raymond James Stadium|
|Friday, August 16th||8:00 PM||New England Patriots||Gillette Stadium|
|Saturday, August 24th||7:30 PM||Miami Dolphins||Sun Life Stadium|
|Thursday, August 29th||7:30 PM||Washington Redskins||Raymond James Stadium|
It should be noted that the Buccaneers’ website has marked the game against the New England Patriots as a nationally televised FOX game, which is likely the reason it is to be played at 8:00 PM rather than 7:30.
The schedule for the preseason provides some interesting challenges for the Buccaneers, who will face good competition in the first two games, and this will hopefully give us all a chance to see a bit more of the starters going against the starters of two AFC playoff teams. The third game gives the Buccaneers a road game against a team that has been through a lot of changes this offseason, and the final game is a home game to allow the final spots on the roster to be decided against pretty good competition.
