Long Fourth of July weekend? Well, here’s all the Buccaneers news you missed while you were barbecuing, lounging by the pool, and blowing stuff up.
- Over at NFL.com Tampa Bay’s own Da’Quan Bowers was rated one of the top 40 players likely to see improvement in 2013 (he came in at 28). Around the League writer Chris Wesseling writes about Bowers’ struggles in the past and the large expectations DeQuan and the Bucs organization have placed on him this season. He even uses the term “All-In”, somebody’s amped for World Series of Poker 2013.
- Nothing gets a blogger going like finding some factual inaccuracies in a national article about his or her team. Our friends over at Bucs Nation took a closer look at the statistics in a National Football Post article about Monte Kiffin, and what they had a field day with Len Pasquarelli’s erroneous stats. Quite the enjoyable read.
- This week’s Fab 5 is a doozy. Scott Reynolds takes on some lesser looked at topics like coaching upgrades and the Bucs commitment to special teams. He also tells us why Demar Dotson is the clear favorite when he’s compared to Gabe Carimi. Fab 5 is a can’t miss every week, this one doesn’t disappoint for the hardcore football fan.
- Finally, your favorite third person football blog, JoeBucsFan, elaborates on an Evan Silva tweet about Darrelle Revis and his effect on the pash rush. The Bucs pass rush is going to be important in the success of the defense this year, Revis certainly can’t hurt.
