Pewter and Read: Weekend Recap of Buccaneers News and Opinions

The weekend has ended, so let’s give you a look at what we’ve been reading about the Bucs over the past few days.

  • I don’t care about what Keyshawn Johnson has to say, but I do often enjoy reading the writing of Jenna Laine. So I was conflicted when I saw that Jenna retold her time with Keyshawn in a recent article for Sports Talk Florida. If you want to get some thoughts from Keyshawn as it pertains to Josh Freeman, Vincent Jackson and more, check it out.
  • Over at Bleacher Report, J.J. Rodriguez has some summarizing thoughts on camp after spending much of his time watching and listening to all that has gone on at One Buc Place over the past few weeks. There’s no news to be found here, but there is a solid recap of where the Bucs stand as the preseason gets into gear.
  • In an article for the Tampa Tribune about position battles playing out in preseason games, there is an interesting tidbit of information buried deep on the page. Roy Cummings opines that the Buccaneers seem to have already decided that Johnthan Banks is going to be the starting corner across from Darrelle Revis, which will resign Leonard Johnson and Danny Gorrer to nickel and dime duty, respectively. This isn’t a surprise, but it is interesting to note that the decision seems to be already made so early in the offseason.

And of course, be sure to check out the information on joining the Pewter Plank Fantasy Football league. Spots are filling fast, so read this article for the information, and get in touch to sign up!
