Another day, another Pewter and Read. Let’s get started.
- Buccaneers’ Insider on the Bucs’ official website took some time to talk to Mike James after today’s practice, and there’s definitely a sense that today wasn’t as smooth as yesterday. But Mike proves he’s already in NFL PR form, giving a good NFL soundbite where he’s optimistic and realistic at the same time.
- Next up are two articles from Bleacher Report. The first is from Knox Bardeen, who has this article about Darrelle Revis’ rumored playing time in the Bucs’ third preseason game. He doesn’t feel like the few reps in a preseason game are worth the risk, and that two extra weeks to rest would be better. I can’t say I disagree, although it would be nice to see Revis take a few snaps just so he knows he’s almost completely back and ready to go.
- The next is from J.J. Rodriguez, who has his winners and losers from Buccaneers’ training camp so far. He’s been at camp as often as any Bucs’ media member, so definitely check out his thoughts.
- From the Tampa Bay Times, we find this article by Stephen Holder, with a brief look at the Rutgers connection in New England with the Buccaneers and Patriots practicing together. With tons of former Scarlet Knights on the field, there were definitely some discussions about the Bucs and Patriots’ affinity for RU prospects.
That’s it for today. Join us again tomorrow for more Bucs’ news and opinions.
