Mercifully the 2013 preseason is now officially over for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In game four they were basically blown off the field by the Washington Redskins.
Most of the Buccaneer starters did not play in this game, but you can chalk this up as the fourth consecutive poor performance from the team as a whole.
One of the few bright spots in the game was Rian Lindell. He nailed a 50 yard field goal in the second half, and the job appears to be his after rookie Derek Dimke missed an extra point.
Mike Glennon started the game for Tampa. He was closer to abysmal than to average. He went 7/16 for just 63 yards and threw one interception.
Couple of other notes. Darrelle Revis did not play in the fourth straight preseason game. And Tom Crabtree was carted off the field with a leg injury. We still do not have more details on Crabtree’s status, but we will have them here on The Pewter Plank when more information is made available.
All in all, it’s over. Thank god. From now on every game will count. Now lets just hope the Buccaneers act that way.
