Initial Practice Squad Announced for Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers liked what they saw from seven young players in training camp, but didn’t see enough to merit a roster spot. These players went unclaimed in the waiver process, and the team announced today that they have rejoined the team as the initial members of the practice squad.

All of these players have shown positively at some point during training camp and the preseason, and the team has done well to get all of them back in Tampa Bay.

The most interesting addition is Danny Noble, who was released in favor of Tim Wright at the tight end position. Noble is now going to compete for the right to earn a spot on the roster as a member of the practice squad at a position where the Buccaneers are lacking in talent, depth, and health.

It’s also great to see Chris Owusu back in the fold, as he might be called upon should new addition Russell Shepard fail to catch on as a wide receiver on the 53-man roster. He also had some very promising moments during training camp, and clearly impressed the coaching staff during that time.
