The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will once again be without their best offensive lineman as Carl Nicks has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Saints, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Despite being listed as questionable with a toe injury, Bucs G Carl Nicks will not play today against his former Saints team.

This means Gabe Carimi will likely get the start at guard, which means the Buccaneers just don’t have the kind of line they need to dominate the trenches against the Saints.
Hopefully the return of Erik Lorig will help Doug Martin get the running game going, but the pass protection will likely still struggle with Nicks sidelined.
At this point, Nicks’ absence seems to be nearly over, as he began practicing once again this week. He should be ready for Week 3 against the Patriots, but the Bucs need to win this week to remain relevant heading into the third game.
We’ll be sure to bring you updates on all the inactives for today’s game as they’re released, but the absence of Nicks is clearly the biggest news which will negatively impact the Tampa Bay offense.
