In the constant battle between sources and the team, Darrelle Revis offered a pair of tweets today expressing that he’s satisfied with his situation, which contradicts a report from FOX Sports we discussed earlier in the week.

Here are the tweets in question:

Obviously there’s no direct mention of Greg Schiano, and there’s no comments on how much he’s been used in zone coverage versus man coverage. But he is clearly not upset enough to come out and personally bash the coach or the team, and from everything we’ve seen this offseason, he has fit in well with the locker room in Tampa Bay.

But just as every report from a national media source is just a report which should be taken with a grain of salt, the same can be said about comments from players and the team. Public relations and keeping up a good appearance are an important part of the NFL, so it’s no surprise that Revis wants to clear the air.

Darrelle Revis has to keep himself in the good graces of the owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so he made these comments to make sure that any future coaches and GMs of the Bucs aren’t forced into letting him go in the midst of his non-guaranteed contract.

It’s entirely possible that Darrelle Revis is happy to be a Buccaneer. He’s well paid, he’s on a great defense, and he seems to be fully healthy after recovering from ACL surgery. Florida is a great place to live, and the Buccaneers are very close to being a great team. But there’s still reason to doubt that Darrelle Revis is happy with his new coach and the slow start for his new team.
