The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been victimized by tight ends all season long, and the New England Patriots may have the best tight end in the league on their roster. Luckily for the Bucs, however, the Patriots won’t be able to use that talented receiver today.
Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski and WR Danny Amendola are officially out for today’s game against the Buccaneers.

Gronkowski has still yet to recover from multiple offseason surgeries, and will not suit up today. The Patriots will also miss Amendola, who is the most reliable and talented receiver Tom Brady has on offense. Here are the rest of the inactives for the Pats.
Other Patriots inactives: OL Will Svitek, RB Leon Washington, WR Matthew Slater, LB Steve Beuharnais, DT Chris Jones. — Field Yates (@FieldYates) September 22, 2013
Former Buccaneer Chris Jones is among the inactive for the Patriots, along with Leon Washington. That means LeGarrette Blount will get to play against his former team, as well.
Carl Nicks is ACTIVE for Tampa. — Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) September 22, 2013
Bucs Inactives: QB Dan Orlovsky, CB Mike Adams, DE Steven Means, TE Luke Stocker, TE Tom Crabtree, T Gabe Carimi and DT Derek Landri.

The Buccaneers have issues at tight end today, and will also miss out on the services of a pair of injured defenders Adams and Landri.
But the Buccaneers will have Rashaan Melvin active today, as he’s recovered from a hamstring injury and will suit up against the Patriots.
Carl Nicks’ return is the most important for Tampa Bay, as they will finally have their offensive line together as intended. It’s perfect timing, too, as Gabe Carimi will miss today’s game due to illness. Should Nicks need to sit, look for Ted Larsen to sub in at left guard.
