NFC South Standings after Week 5:
1. New Orleans Saints – 5-0
2. Carolina Panthers – 1-3
3. Atlanta Falcons – 1-4
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 0-4
The Buccaneers host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 while the Panthers travel to Minneapolis to take on the Vikings. The Saints will look to remain perfect as they are on the road against the New England Patriots.
The Falcons have their bye.
Week 6 Schedule (all times Eastern):
Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13th
Carolina Panthers @ Minnesota Vikings, 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13th
New Orleans Saints @ New England Patriots, 4:25 p.m., Sunday, October 13th
The Bucs will look to get their first win of the season against the 2-3 Eagles and for the Bucs, it’s one of the few realistic chances they have of getting a win this season.
The Panthers will face the all of a sudden quarterback heavy Vikings as they try to stay in contention for a wild card.
Although it’s only been five weeks, the Saints, barring a disastrous collapse, already look to have the NFC South wrapped up which is the most important thing. However, moving to 6-0 on the road against the Patriots will be satisfying.
For the Falcons, the bye week is desperately needed. One of the Superbowl favourites heading into the season, the Falcons are a mess right now with only one win. The bye week should give them the chance to get things together and make a push for a wild card spot.
