Tampa Bay Buccaneers trail Atlanta Falcons 24-10 at half

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trail the Atlanta Falcons 24-10 at half time at the Georgia Dome.

The Bucs secondary has been torched by Matt Ryan as he has thrown for 211 yards in the first half with two touchdown passes, both of which were caught by Harry Douglas who has 140 receiving yards.

Johnthan Banks and Leonard Johnson have been burned by the Falcons wideouts and despite Roddy White and Julio Jones both being inactive, the Atlanta offense has torched the secondary.

Dashon Goldson left the game with a knee injury but he returned before the end of the half, while Darrelle Revis hasn’t seen much action as Ryan has typically thrown to the other side of the field.

While the secondary has struggled, the front seven have played well. Lavonte David has been lights out as he has nine tackles, three of which were for losses. While no sacks have been recorded, the Bucs have held Falcon rushers to 11 yards on nine carries.

Offensively, Mike Glennon has been consistent as he has completed 14 of 21 for 163 yards and a monster 59-yard touchdown pass to Vincent Jackson.

Jackson has 86 yards receiving on five catches, while Doug Martin has 38 yards on eight carries.

The game got off to a terrible start for the Bucs as Glennon was sacked, fumbled, and then Thomas DeCoud scooped up the loose ball for a touchdown.

The Falcons built up a 24-7 lead before Ryan Lindell kicked a 36-yard field goal as time expired to cut the lead to 14.
