After defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23, the Atlanta Falcons have cut into the New Orleans Saints divisional lead in the NFC South.
The Saints were on their bye this week, meaning they remained at 5-1. The Bucs dropped to 0-6 with the loss to Atlanta, while the Falcons moved to 2-4. The Carolina Panthers beat the St. Louis Rams 30-15 to move to 3-3.

Week 8 sees the Buccaneers host the Panthers on Thursday Night Football. The Saints host the Buffalo Bills, while the Falcons are on the road against the Arizona Cardinals. It should also be noted that all teams in the NFC South have now had their bye weeks.

The Buccaneers and Panthers will both make their national television season debuts on Thursday night. The Bucs were expected to be much better than their 0-6 record, while the Panthers will look to get their winning streak to three games.
The Saints will certainly be favored to beat Buffalo and keep their substantial lead in the NFC South, while Atlanta will be still be playing to keep their wild card hopes a reality.
