The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trail the Carolina Panthers 14-6 at half time of Thursday Night Football.

It’s been an up-and-down half for the Bucs as they have shown flashes of brilliance but at other times have been thoroughly outplayed.

The largest problem the Bucs offense has faced is that their drives are stalling in Panthers territory, highlighted by the two Ryan Lindell field goals they have to show for their efforts.

Mike Glennon has been solid once again as he has completed 11 of 16 passes for 124 yards, while Mike James has 36 yards on eight carries in place of the injured Doug Martin.

Unfortunately, the Bucs offensive line has been unable to give much time for Glennon to settle in the pocket, while Ted Larsen has repeatedly had poor snaps forcing Glennon to take unnecessary sacks.

The Bucs defense has shown flashes but has done little to slow down Cam Newton as he has thrown for 149 yards with one touchdown while running for an additional 24 yards.

The front seven has played admirably, as they have forced Newton to scramble numerous times and have sacked him twice.

The defensive backfield though has struggled as Newton has pierced them with regularity although Darrelle Revis has shut down Panthers wideout Steve Smith. Dashon Goldson is inactive tonight for with a knee injury while Johnthan Banks left with a hip injury and is questionable to return.
