The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally won their first game of the season at the ninth try as they beat the Miami Dolphins 22-19 on Monday Night Football in Tampa.
The New Orleans Saints demolished the Dallas Cowboys 49-17 Sunday night to maintain their NFC South lead, while the Carolina Panthers won 10-9 in San Francisco against the 49ers.
The Atlanta Falcons were beaten 33-10 at home by the Seattle Seahawks.
NFC South Week 10 Standings:
1. New Orleans Saints – 7-2
2. Carolina Panthers – 6-3
3. Atlanta Falcons – 2-7
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 1-8
In week 11, it’s an NFC South basement matchup as the Bucs host the Falcons. The Saints host the 49ers, while the Panthers take on the Patriots Monday night.
Week 11 Schedule (all times Eastern):
Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17th
San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints, 4:25 p.m., Sunday, November 17th
New England Patriots @ Carolina Panthers, 8:30 p.m., Monday, November 18th
Now that we’re into the second half of the season, the race for playoff spots will heat up. Both the Panthers and Saints face difficult home games this week as they battle for first place in the division. With both teams playing so well, the odd team out from winning the division has a great chance at claiming one of the wild card spots.
On the other end of the spectrum, the Bucs and Falcons will fight for being the worst team in the NFC. The Bucs could suddenly move into a tie for third with a win over the disappointing Falcons. A Falcon win would almost certainly mean the Bucs will finish the year in the NFC South basement.
