The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are seeing the continued return to health of their best cornerback, Darrelle Revis, but they are losing some of the depth behind him. The team announced today that Michael Adams will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Adams has hardly been the best player on the field for the Buccaneers, as he’s struggled badly in recent weeks to contain slot receivers. But he was a solid contributor on special teams, and there’s not a ton of depth at corner past Adams.
Danny Gorrer has been inactive for the past two weeks after returning to the lineup against Seattle. He hasn’t appeared on the injury report as a questionable or doubtful player, but he’s been probable with continued injury concerns with his groin.
Deveron Carr also remains on the roster, but has been a healthy scratch from almost every game this season. Carr figures to be the next in line if Gorrer is hurt or otherwise in the doghouse and not fit to return to game action.
The Buccaneers have an open roster spot by placing Adams on IR, and with the likely loss of Dashon Goldson at safety, they cannot risk having too few cornerbacks and a suspended safety against the Detroit Loins. Look for the team to add a corner in the coming days to round out the roster and provide some depth.
